The community adult mental health team (CMHT) supports aduts experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. If you're struggling with your mental health, please speak to our team - help and support are available.

SHARA - SELF HELP ANXIETY REDUCTION WORKBOOK


A new self-help anxiety reduction app (SHARA) workbook, has been developed as a tool to help people suffering from anxiety.

RECOVERY COLLEGE


The Western Trust Recovery College offers free courses and workshops in the Omagh area that support people to better understand and manage their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE


The Perinatal Mental Health Service was recently launched in October 2023 to help women during pregnancy and after the birth of their baby. It is a dedicated and skilled multidisciplinary team comprising of Consultant Psychiatrist, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Specialist Midwife, Specialist Health Visitor, and a Quality & Information Officer.  

If you are struggling with your mental health during pregnancy or after the birth of your baby, please remember that help is available. 


If you would like a referral to this service please speak to your GP, Health Visitor, Midwife, or your Mental health professional if they are already involved in your care.

ADULT LEARNING DISABILITY TEAM


The Adult learning disability team supports adults with learning disabilities to live healthier and more independent lives. They work closely with individuals, families, carers and GP's to provide personalised care and ongoing support.


The Western Trust Adult Learning Disability Service has subspecialties such as:

ADULT AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER SERVICE


Adult Autism Spectrum Disorder services primarily offer assessment, post diagnostic support and practical help with daily living, employment and social interaction.

You can discuss a referral with your GP or health care professional if you think you need an appointment with the Adult ASD Service.

CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SERVICES


CHILD AND ADOLESCENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (CAMHS)


Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services or CAMHS provide a service to children and young people up to the age of 18 years.

The multidisciplinary teams are made up of Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work and Clinical Nurse Specialists. The service works closely with both statutory and voluntary agencies.

If you think your child needs a referral to the CAMHS team please discuss this with a member of our medical team. 


AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER SERVICE (ASD)


ASD services focus on supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. It involves diagnosis and assessment, early intervention and therapeutic support. If you have concerns about your child’s development you should make a routine appointment with your child's GP, Health visitor or Paediatrician (if they are already under the care of one) to discuss this. Preschool children will also have a routine screening assessment undertaken by their health visitor at the age of two, to identify any early developmental concerns.

DISABLED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE'S SERVICES


This team provide a range of services for disabled children and young people with:

  • Learning disability
  • Physical disability and/or with physical health needs or sensory needs.

These services aim to help disabled children and young people live lives that are as full as possible.

COMMUNTIY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR OLDER PEOPLE


Older People's Mental Health Services within the Western Trust care for people aged over 65 years with mental health problems and all adults with dementia of any age.

If you would like a referral to this service please make a routine appointment with your GP. You can make an appointment by phoning reception from 8:30am Monday-Friday.


The Older People's Mental Health team is divided into the following subspecialties


The Psychiatric Liasion Service


The Psychiatric Liasion Service for Older People's Mental Health compromises a Psychiatric Liason Nurse and Dementia Specialist Nurse in each sector who is supported by the respective Consultant Psychiatrist

Memory Assessment Service


The memory assessment service is a specialist service which aims to detect and assess dementia in adults of all ages, make treatment recommendations and provide information and support to patients and care givers. The Memory Service Team consists of memory nurses, team leader, psychiatrist, psychologist, geriatrician, occupational therapist and dementia navigator. The service is dedicated to improving early access and diagnosis for those with a probable dementia. 


Dementia and Older People’s Community Mental Health Team


The Dementia and Older People’s Community Mental Health Team provides assessment, treatment and support to people over 65 with a mental health problem and/or dementia and those under 65 with an early onset dementia.

This service operates between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday
