FEMALE UTI SERVICE


UNCOMPLICATED URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS (UTI)


If you are female and aged between 16-64 you may be able to get free treatment for a UTI from a participating local pharmacy


The following local pharmacy's provide this service:

  • Gordons (Omagh, Cookstown & Dungannon)
  • Boot's chemist (Omagh, Cookstown & Dungannon)
  • Tallon’s (Sixmilecross)
  • Fintona Medical Hall (Fintona)
  • Harte’s (Carrickmore)
  • Mc Aleer's Medical Hall (Pomeroy)
  • Shane O'Neill (Ballygawley) 
  • Fall's Chemist (Cookstown)
  • Medicare (Dungannon)
  • Paul Donaghy (Dungannon)

You CANNOT use this service if any of the following apply to you: 

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have received more than one antibiotic for a UTI in the previous 6 months
  • You use urinary catheters
  • You have a kidney impairment
  • Your only symptom is visible blood in your urine (haematuria)
  • You are immunocompromised
  • You have any of the following; anaemia, diabetes, vitamin B deficiency, peripheral neuropathy or electrolyte imbalance
